My Story
I grew up on a small island in Ireland, where everyone knows everyone. As the eldest of four kids I was always a people pleaser and never wanted to disappoint. I followed rules to an absolute and I thrived on it. Anxiety was ever present as a child and never really understood why I became so upset when others tried to control the activity or the games. My imagination was a wonderful place to escape to as were books! These I often read on repeat. Fast forward to adulthood where life became very real. Adults are expected to conform and perform. I was able to bob along just above water until I wasn’t . Thankfully I found the answer to all the feelings of brokenness, fear of losing my mind and not really ever “fitting in”.
